What were the lessons learned?
Some feedback (also from the Help team) surrounded the terminology used for On-Page. The url entered received a grade of how well their page ranked against our set of optimized SEO criteria. However, about 30% of Moz’s customer base is international, and not all countries are familiar with letter grades. We ran a survey to see whether we should change over to a numerical score --the “score” beat out the “grade” in customer response.

Any twists in the road?
A hackathon project was introduced as a new feature to the page optimization tool. There was some exploration done to reduce UX debit down the road.

How did you measure success?
We launched this redesign in early Q3 2015, and Related Topics a few months later. By the end of the year we had seen a 40% lift in engagement in the Page Optimization section of the site.
